Timber Tales: Preschool Storytime
10:00—11:00 a.m. Featured story: The Quilt Story by Tony Johnston. Bring your 3-5 year old to the Village for an exciting step back into the world of 1800s Texas ! Little "Villagers" can don bonnets, aprons, and vests as they gather 'round to hear stories of days gone by. $3 fee includes a preschool story, fun activities, and a craft.

Strike While the Iron’s Hot
1:00—4:00 p.m. Experience life before hardware and lumber stores! See the blacksmith hand-forge unique creations, take a turn working wood at the shaving horse, help plow the field, and make your own stamped leather craft to take home. This day is for do-it-yourselfers!
No reservations required. Cost is regular Village admission plus a $2 craft fee.

Thyme for a Cure?
1:00—4:00 p.m. Herbs and flowering plants were an important part of life in the 1800s. Visit with members of the Greater Fort Worth Herb Society, identify basic herbs in our herb garden, and learn how herbs were used to treat illness, hygiene, cooking, and more. Find out about 19th century medicine, smell herbs as they season old-fashioned recipes, and make your own flor de papel (paper flower).
No reservations required. Cost is regular Village admission plus a $2 craft fee.

From Logs to Riches
1:00—4:00 p.m. Can you tell a wickiup from a grass hut? Do you know what “half dovetail notch” means? Have you ever used the phrase “central hall construction”...and meant it? If the answer to any of these questions is “no,” then this day is for you. Learn about the types of homes that Texans built in the 1800s, see log hewing demonstrations, and build your own craft to take home.

Gone to Texas Summer Daycamp
9:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m. Pack the wagon and head to 1800s Texas ! Learn how cabins were built, explore the herb garden, grind corn, and make your own “homey” crafts. $15 admission includes craft materials and a snack.

Wagons West
9:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m. Be a 19th century Texan for a day! Wagons West is a program of hands-on activities recreating elements of a typical school-age child's day. The children wash clothes using a washboard and lye soap, card wool, grind corn by hand and weave on a child's scale loom. This popular group program is open for individuals on these two days only! $15 admission includes craft materials and a snack.

*note: this program duplicates some elements of the daycamps, so you may not wish to sign your child up for this in addition to the camps.

Texas is Home Summer Daycamp
9:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m. Learn about everyday life and chores in 19th century Texas . Wash clothes, spin and weave wool, go to school, and more. Make your own glycerin herb soap and 1800s toy to take home! $15 admission includes craft materials and a snack.

It’s All Fun and Games
1:00—4:00 p.m. Come and play some games the way Texans did in the 1800s. We'll have rolling hoops, Jacob’s Ladders, buzz saws, graces, mancala, jacks, and more! You can even make your own stick and ring toy to take home.

We’re All Texans Summer Daycamp
9:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m. Discover the multi and cross-cultural aspects of Texas through exploration into the importance of corn, clay, and the role of trade. Make your own corn husk doll and clay creation, and trade with the Villagers to get materials for a bead bracelet. $15 admission includes craft materials and a snack.
