Pioneer School

Students and a classroom teacher arrive at the Village dressed pioneer-style (optional) with lunch in a tin pail to hold a full day of pioneer school in the one-room schoolhouse. The classroom teacher conducts school with the help of the Pioneer School Teacher's Guide, a booklet of 1880s lesson for reading, reciting and "ciphering," costume ideas, lunch suggestions and games for recess. The day ends with a chance to Meet the Pioneers. Advance registration and program deposit are required.
