Frontier 101 is a great program for all ages. Participants are divided into group pods of 10 or fewer to travel from cabin to cabin visiting with our historical interpreters dressed in period attire. The interpreters discuss 19th century Texas frontier history, demonstrate various crafts from the time period, and engage visitors in a conversation about the past. Reproduction items that can be touched are available at each tour stop. Demonstrations available vary but may include weaving, candle-dipping, blacksmithing, and milling.

During this tour, you have the option to see every cabin on site! A backpack full of hands-on items will be available for on-site use for each pod. Backpacks contain additional activities for each cabin, along with simple instructions for chaperones if you arrive at a cabin without a historical interpreter.
