Frontier 101 is a great program for all ages. During your field trip, you will see 4-6 historical interpreters throughout the Village. Cabins that do not have an interpreter will have explanatory text panels and a Find that Artifact activity for you and your students to use at that stop. Participants are divided into pods to travel from cabin to cabin visiting with our historical interpreters dressed in period attire.
The interpreters discuss 19th century Texas frontier history, demonstrate various crafts from the time period, and engage visitors in a conversation about the past. Reproduction items that can be touched are available at each tour stop. Demonstrations available vary but may include weaving, candle-dipping, blacksmithing, and milling.
